many eclectic song versions; from new long instrumentals (Exhale and Mutt), to bar-piano (Trying Not To Fall In Love With You) to vibraphon (Trouble Man, seamlessly into Indifference).

my favourites so far are Blessed To Be A Witness on ukelele (amazing ending) and of course Hallelujah (speaking about meeting Jeff Buckley, "you could feel he was in the room before you knew it" and "he was the truth, both in music and life" and of course the French festival-story).

i transcribed what Ben said about Jeff Buckley before Hallelujah for an unofficial Jeff Buckley forum. Here's the transcript for anyone interested;

Ben Harper is currently playing an all acoustic tour, and he regularly plays Hallelujah, a version that would have made Jeff proud. In Chicago, 27 September 2012; Ben speaks of meeting Jeff prior to singing Hallelujah;

"Jeff was one of the most amazing people I ever met. That won’t come again I’m afraid. I was talkin’ about taking a lot of chances. Whenever I was in a room with Jeff, you know you were in a room with him before you knew that he was there.

A little dive bar in New York I walked in and something filled my heart, threw the hair up on my back. "What's going on in this little dive bar?" and they go "It's Jeff!" That must have been a lot to carry, but Jeff was the truth, the truth, the truth. When it comes to music and life, the perspective.

I had the chance to speak with him a couple of times, to great lengths. He came up to me one time, I was sitting on a bench. I’ve told this story several times before, I’ll tell the story a couple of more times before I let fly.

But we were in France on the same festival, I was sitting scratching down a setlist and I feel somebody behind me as I said, you feel it, and I look up and there’s this, just, man, just chains and bracelets, rings and the tank top and black tank pants and steel top boots, and he’s just making his way over to me. I’m a fan, so I think this is great and I’m wondering what he’s doing. He comes right over to me and he says “You’re Ben Harper, I know you. I have the records, you play slide guitar, show me some stuff. He takes out a guitar, puts it around my neck . It was a Guild guitar with the sound hole all taped up. He says ‘Show me some stuff!’ I was uh-oh, but you’re an amazing player, I’m not gonna show this guy. And I start to play and he’s got it in the craaaaziest tuning. And I’m like ah-ah-ah-uh…. And he’s like ‘Keep going, keep going!’ And I’m like ‘Oh man!’

We sat and talked about different tunings, different guitars, talked about different festivals, talked about rock n roll, talked about press, talked about our travel, talked about music and life and… yeah.

(Audience “Bless you!”)

Bless Jeff! And the most important thing, he did one record. Jeff did with one record what frickin’ me, and frickin’ Led Zeppelin and Bob Dylan and Pearl Jam and Wilco, what we try to do in a lifetime."

Hi, I'm new. have always been a huge Ben fan but just saw my first show this wkd in Toronto.
It was amazing.........the best concert i have ever been to. He played for over three hours and we actually met his tour manager at the bar before hand which was pretty cool.
It was awesome.
I was planning on making a CD for the girlfriend for her birthday which is this wkd. i have been using the setlist from that night and just downloading Live version of the songs from You tube which has been pretty hit and miss. I just noticed on this forum about the Chicago show being up and thought that would b even cooler but i can't register on dimeadozen as its full.
Just was wondering if someone would doing me a huge favor and get it for me.
I'm sure we can work out some sort of trade or even cash. Name your price people.
i really want a copy of this and as soon as possible.

the idea of taping and trading really interests me but i have no idea how to get started.
i just saw my 5th show in toronto the other week and it would be awesome to record a show the next time he's up this way..
