new album in January 2013!

according to the man himself a new album will be released in January next year!

i quote from the Chicago bootleg just added at dime, as an intro to one of the new songs he played (You Found Another Lover, I Lost Another Friend, a beautiful song with lots of soul in it);

"I have record coming out next year in January with one of the greatest blues legends of all time, who cut his teeth and was with Wolf and Muddy Waters and Little Walter and Algor James and Skip James and Booker Wyming. He knew them all; Charlie Musslewhite. The record is called Get Up. And this is a song off of Get Up. It's called You Found Another Lover, I Lost Another Friend. And I know you know who I'm talking about."

Funny thing with this album. I met a dude on Facebook that claims he knows Ben. He told me about this album almost a year ago. He claims this new album started out as a solo project but became a project with Charlie. He also claims Ben is getting back with the ICs in 2013 for a tour/new album. We will see. I got my fingers crossed.

DAMN, ONLY 40 MINS! Hell, he could have put on that live version of "Dressed In Black" w/ the ICS and Charlie as a bonus track at the very least. That track smoked the studio version with R7. Still looking forward to it.

Here’s a short review. It’s quiet difficult for me as English is not my native language… I’ll do my best!

By the way, promo CDs of “Don’t Think Twice”, “I’m In, I’m Out, I’m Gone” & “She Got Kick” had been released to promote the album in the US, UK & France.

Don’t Think Twice :
Great track, excellent vocals by Ben. It begins with a lapsteel/vocal verse, then joined by Musselwhite harmonica’s for the second verse, and all the band for the second chorus.

I’m In, I’m Out, I’m Gone:

We Can’t End This Way:
Very old fashioned track, it’s a 3 time song, with hand clappings, discrete guitar, a slight lapsteel solo, and very nice female backing vocals!

I Don’t Believe a Word You Say:

Found Another Lover:
Beautiful track, already played live. Guitar/Vocal/Harmonica… A classic BH track: So simple, so great!

I Ride at Dawn
One of my personal favourite… Hypnotic track! To me, similar to “Gather Round The Stone”. Smooth martial drumming in it.

Blood Side Out:
“Dressed In Black” little sister! A great vocal/harmonica bridge in it!

Get Up:
Soulful song… Once again, Ben vocals part dominate this song… A very discrete lapsteel guitar, the song last 3 minutes is a great instrumental part: a solo for Mozersky, one for Ben & one for Charlie, and it sounds good!

She Got Kick:
A piano blues track, not my cup of tea. Pretty simple but it works.

Happy New Year my people! better late than never. Hope you all had a great holiday. I am soo looking forward to this cd. I have not listen to the rest of the cd on purpose until I get it in the mail.
